AHS Girls Tennis team headed to Lexington April 12, where they battled the wind and eight other teams. The Girl’s Tennis team placed seventh overall with a team score of 13. During the tournament there had been wind gusts up to 50 m.p.h. and the players had not been playing in their regular positions.
Alliance Girls Tennis Coach Scott Mills said the team did their best to adapt. “We did not get the results we wanted but it was definitely an education for some of the girls. We practice in the wind but to play a tournament in wind like this is difficult,” said Mills.
The Alliance Girls Tennis team plays again in Scottsbluff April 19. Where Mills hopes to have his players healthy. “I think we should have everyone back and healthy by the end of the week so we can get our players back in their positions and focused again,” said Mills.
