Alan Lowell Contryman, 80, of Buffalo Gap, South Dakota, died 1-13-2024 in Brighton, Colorado.
Alan (Lowell) was born in Ogallala, Nebraska in 1943 to Dale Morell Contryman and Maurine Skinner.
Lowell went to Custer High School, then went to work for Burlington Northern and became a locomotive engineer. He started his career in 1971 and retired from BNSF in 2003.
Lowell is survived by his wife Charon Kirk Contryman, daughter Candy Wills (husband Bill), and son Tom Contryman (wife Lea). His grandchildren are Alan, Kyle (wife Jordan), Billy, Jerrico, Jesse, Jory and Jill. His great grand children are Clarice, Izalia and Kolbie. His beloved pet is Badger.
Lowell and Charon traveled the continental U.S. from Alaska to the Florida Keys for the last 20 years.
The service for Lowell and brother-in-law Fred Kirk will be held May 18th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pringle Cemetary. There will be a reception to follow.
