The Alliance boys basketball team has improved its season to 13-4 after chalking up two victories last week at games in Gordon-Rushville and Ogallala.
On Jan. 19, the boys traveled to Gordon-Rushville to take on the Mustangs. Gordon-Rushville started the game strong, outscoring Alliance in the first quarter 17-14. However, the Bulldogs rebounded and outpaced the Mustangs in the following quarters, leading to a 63-49 victory over Gordon-Rushville.
On Friday, the Bulldogs traveled to Ogallala, where they faced off against the Indians. In the first quarter, Alliance posted 19 points while Ogallala scored only 13. In the second quarter, Alliance repeated the first quarter, scoring an additional 19 points while limiting Ogallala to nine points. The Indians rallied in the second half, however, scoring 13 points in the third quarter while limiting Alliance to six. In the fourth quarter, the game was tight as the Bulldogs and the Indians tied the game by scoring four and 13 points, respectively.
With each team at 48 points at the end of the fourth quarter, the game headed into overtime, where the Bulldogs bounced back from the low scores of the second half, chalking up 21 points in overtime. Ogallala was unable to outpace Alliance, scoring only 13 points, giving the Bulldogs a 69-61 victory over the Indians.

On Friday, the Bulldogs competed in Ogallala, where the Indians rallied over the Bulldogs throughout the game, leading to a 52-36 victory for Ogallala.
The Alliance girls basketball teams stands at 1-15 this season as they prepare to face Gering on Friday evening.
