The inaugural Alliance Community-Wide Garage Sale, organized by the Alliance Times-Herald, is fast approaching, with the deadline to reserve spots on the map drawing near.
The Alliance Times-Herald organized the event in an effort to draw people to the community. The community-wide garage sale is set to take place the weekend of June 11-13.
“We’re excited to spearhead the first Alliance Community-Wide Garage sale this year,” said Kathryn Kellar, Alliance Times-Herald Co-Publisher. “Especially amidst the pandemic, the garage sale weekend is an opportunity for residents to come together and interact with their neighbors. It’s a good opportunity, not only for those wishing to clean out unused items, but also for those looking to get out and hunt for deals. The idea behind this service project is to bring the community together. We hope that through our own surplus sale, as participants of the garage sale, to see the community active with people that weekend.”
People still have an opportunity to reserve their spot on the map that will be published in the June 9 edition of the Alliance Times-Herald. The deadline for entries is Monday, June 7 at noon. The cost is $5 for the ad, which includes 30 words and a photo, or 60 words without a photo.
The Alliance Times-Herald would like to thank the Spartans Baseball Team for all of their hard work in helping prepare for the sale at the Times-Herald.
“One of the biggest goals that Kathryn and I have had since taking ownership of the Alliance Times-Herald is clearing excess stuff out of the building,” said Shaun Friedrichsen, Alliance Times-Herald Co-Publisher. “The Spartans played a huge role in making that dream come true, and we are so grateful for their hard work and dedication. Without their efforts, it would have taken years to accomplish what they did in days.”
