By Randy Ross

Garden County Sheriff

The Garden County Sheriff’s Office has filed multiple charges against Ryan W. Dailey (DOB 01/14/1999) following his voluntary confession to the sexual assault of a 13-year-old female that occurred in Garden County in January 2019.

On May 23, 2025, Sheriff Ross received a report and video-recorded interview from Sergeant David LaDuke of the Alliance Police Department. In the interview, Dailey described in detail his sexual contact with the victim, who was 13 years old at the time. Dailey admitted he was between 19 and 20 years old when the incident occurred.

The confession corroborated an earlier report from July 2019, previously investigated by the Garden County Sheriff’s Office. The initial case included a forensic interview conducted at the Capstone Child Advocacy Center in Sidney, Nebraska, and a case report compiled by the Garden County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation revealed the victim met Dailey via social media, and two incidents of sexual activity occurred at Dailey’s mother’s residence in Oshkosh, Nebraska. A second interview with Dailey was conducted on May 22, 2025 at the Box Butte County Jail, during which Dailey confirmed further details of the assault, the exchange of explicit images, and acknowledged knowing the victim’s age.

Charges Filed:

• First Degree Sexual Assault (2 counts) – Class II Felony

• Third Degree Sexual Assault of a Child (1 count) – Class IIIA Felony

• Debauching a Minor (2 counts) – Class I Misdemeanor

Dailey is currently in custody at the Garden County Jail. His bond has been set at $250,000, with the right to post 10%.

Sheriff Ross expressed his sincere gratitude to Sergeant David LaDuke and the Alliance Police Department for their thorough and professional assistance in the investigation. Their cooperation was instrumental in bringing new evidence to light and moving this case forward.

The Garden County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to seeking justice for victims and holding offenders accountable—no matter how much time has passed.
