The Alliance Swim team competed in Sidney on June 18, where it was the swim team’s third meet of the season and competition has been fierce, but the swim team continues to improve while being led by Coach Seth Holquist.
“We have now been three weeks into the season and the improvement we see is incredible. As a coach, watching these kids win their races is just a bonus compared to seeing them have fun and constantly improve themselves. That’s all I can ask of them is that they do their best and improve their ability,” said Holquist.
The Alliance swim team is comprised of 60 swimmers this year, ranging from ages six to 16.
“These kids work hard juggling schedules and making it to practice so they can swim in these tournaments,” said Coach Holquist on the 60 swimmers on the swim team.
Alliance will be hosting a medal meet Saturday, June 25, which will be the final meet of the season.
“This is what we work towards every year. We are working the technical things this week, so the DQ judges don’t have much to watch for, hopefully,” said Holquist.
