Alvin E. Mundt, 90, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Highland Park Care Center.
He was born December 11, 1932 in Box Butte County, Nebraska to Albert and Ella (Lance) Mundt.
Following his school years, Alvin worked as a ranch hand before enlisting in the United States Army in 1951. He served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. On December 4, 1954 he married Dorothy M. Hiltz in Scottsbluff.
Alvin worked as a farmhand in the area for many years before eventually moving to town where he worked for Trinidad Bean and later for WESTCO as a route driver. After retirement, he still worked various jobs as Alvin was a man who enjoyed staying active.
He was a member of the V.F.W., the American Legion, and the Evangelical Free Church. Alvin enjoyed fishing and especially spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as they always said he was a kid at heart.
Alvin is survived by his daughters, Cindy Martin of Pocatello, ID, Pamela (Steve) Welch of Gering, Terri (John) Harmon of Clearwater, KS, and Sandy Mundt of Alliance; 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 3 brothers, 4 sisters, and his son-in-law, Dave Martin.
Graveside memorial services will be held Friday, June 2, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hemingford Cemetery.
Memorials in Alvin’s name may be given to Highland Park Care Center, 1633 Sweetwater Ave., Alliance, Nebraska, 69301.
