Nice gains in the air by the guests is how the contest began. Gering used a pair of completions to drive deep into Alliance territory on the game’s first series. Strong tackles by Alliance’s Tatum Devlin, Atreus Walker, and Mykey Valdovinos would slow down the Gering drive. With 2:27 on the clock, Gering would score on an 8 yard TD pass. The extra point was good. On Alliance’s first attempt, the hosts got a nice run by Valdovinos. The period came a conclusion with Gering leading 8 to 0. On the second period’s first play, a reverse by Dixon Bair found the end zone. The run went 44 yards and sliced the Bulldog deficit to 8 to 6. Alliance’s defense would receive solid plays by Quinton Scroth and Roy Torres on the ensuing Gering possession, giving AMS the ball back. Unfortunately, the guests stopped AMS’s next try, keeping the score 8 to 6. The half closed with another Gering touchdown and a successful PAT. After two quarters of play, Gering was up 16 to 6.
Both club’s defenses were stout in the third. Big tackle’s by AMS defensive players-Bair, Quinn Ferguson and Jonathan Jacobo-kept the hosts close. The period came to an end with Gering still ahead by 10. With 7:02 left in the fourth, the guests found the end zone on a 5 yard td pass. The extra point was no good. Alliance would have two more chances to pull close but the Dogs were turned away. Final Gering 22 Alliance 6
