Anna Ingrid Schild of Rapid City, SD was called home at the young age of 50 on May 4, 2022. She was born to Larry and Susan Forsstrom on May 6, 1971 in Lincoln, NE.
Anna grew up in Alliance, NE and graduated from Alliance High School. She went to college at Laramie, WY then transferred to Chadron State College where she received her BS. Anna worked in group homes for people with special needs which sparked her interest in helping others.
Anna married Glen Schild in 1993 in Alliance. They lived in Chadron for a few years, then the couple moved to Norfolk, NE where Anna earned her Special Education degree at Wayne State College. In 1997, Anna and Glen welcomed their firstborn, Nathan. Their family grew with the birth of their son, Jacob in 2001. Shortly, thereafter the family relocated to Rapid City, SD. Anna loved being a wife and mother and devoted herself to nurturing and supporting her family.
She took a Special Education position at Steven’s High School where she taught for twenty years. While teaching at Steven’s, Anna continued her education obtaining her Master’s Degree at College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. Her students benefited greatly from Anna’s passion to make it her life’s work to ensure they knew they were loved and valued. She was a selfless person who loved with her whole heart. Survivors include her husband, Glen; sons, Nathan (Aubrey) of Gillette, WY; and Jacob (Samantha) of Rapid City, SD; aunt and uncle, Sharon Griffith and Jeff Cole of Alliance; uncle Mark Forsstrom of Osceola, IA; brothers-in-law, Lynn (Stephanie) and Vern (Joyce); sister-in-law, Cindi (Dan); and many family and friends.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Larry and Susan Forsstrom; grandparents, Ingvald (Chub) and Anna Forsstrom; in-laws, Ray and Dorris Schild; brother-in-law, Paul Schild.
