The Alliance Police Department hosted a movie night at the Alliance Theatre on June 23, with free admission and a free small combo per person courtesy of the Society of Care. Owner Edison Red Nest III helped unite the project to make the community come together.
“It was great to see everyone having fun and interacting with the officers. Good job to the Alliance Police Department,” said Red Nest.
Chief Philip Lukens was delighted to have the opportunity for the police department to participate in the event. Local police officers worked the concession stand and handed sticker badges to those gathered outside of the movie theater, greeting people and interacting with the community of the packed event, which had five theaters full of 415 guests, where some guests got the opportunity to experience their first movie theater experience.
“We are delighted to work with Edison Red Nest on another project and see our community come together for another fun night. A sign of a healthy community is people being active in it. My staff and the VIPs really worked hard sacrificially making this happen, which is evidence of their commitment to partnership with our community. Our community partnership, meaning the community is helping with crime reduction making Alliance safer and that makes me proud,” said Chief Lukens.
