In an effort to stop an ongoing rash of burglaries in Alliance, the Alliance Police Department is asking citizens for help.
According to Alliance Police Departmenr Sergeant Cody Buskirk, since February there have been more than 60 burglaries in Alliance. He advised citizens to take precautions to limit the burglaries.
“In each instance, force was used to make entry into a structure and property was stolen,” said Buskirk. “The Alliance Police Department is investigating and following up on multiple leads in these cases. However, the vigilance of the citizens of Alliance is crucial in solving the problem. Please, lock the doors on your shops, sheds, garages, vehicles and your residence. Most of these burglary cases, resulted due to locks being cut off of storage units.”
People are encouraged to report suspicious activity to the Alliance Police Department by calling 308-762-4955. The APD also encourages people to check their locks at their storage units and to make use of security systems, trail cams and lighting.
