APL, WNCC Offer Computer Classes

In an effort to encourage computer literacy, The Alliance Public Library, in partnership with WNCC, is offering additional computer skills classes in April.

Introduction to Excel will be held on Tuesday, April 20 from 3-5 p.m. and will cover the basics, including how to create a spreadsheet, insert basic functions, and organize data.

Intermediate Computer Skills will be held on Thursday, April 22 from 3-5 p.m. and is intended for individuals with home computers who would like to expand their basic computer knowledge.

Patrons are encouraged to bring their own laptops, and topics include using external devices, managing files and programs, updating computer systems, and protecting your computer.

Introduction to Canva will be held on Tuesday, April 27 from 3-5 p.m. Launched in 2013, Canva is an online design and publishing tool with a mission to empower everyone in the world to design anything and publish anywhere. Canva is free to use and provides tools that make digital design, from professional presentations to t-shirts, both easy and accessible.

Using Canva to Create Resumes will be held on Thursday, April 29 from 3-5 p.m. and will focus on the digital design tool Canva, and how it can be used to quickly create eye catching resumes. All classes will be held in the WNCC computer lab located in the basement of the Alliance

Learning Center at 1750 Sweetwater Avenue and are provided free of charge courtesy of the Alliance Public Library and WNCC. Space is limited to eight participants per session and masks are required. To reserve a seat, please contact the library at 308-762-1387.
