Current Alliance Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Troy Unzicker was announced as one of four finalists in the search for a superintendent for Gering Public Schools.
After a special meeting last Monday, the Gering Public Schools Board of Education selected four candidates to be interviewed at later dates: Dr. Unzicker, Nicole Regan, Vernon Fisher and George Schlothauer.
Unzicker, who was a student at Gering Public Schools, is scheduled to complete his interview Wednesday evening.
Schlothauer, who is the director of alternative education at Educational Service Unit 13 interviewed for the position on Monday.
Regan, who is the director of recruitment and supervisor of special programs at Lincoln Public Schools, interviewed on Tuesday.
Fisher, who is the superintendent of Gibbon Public Schools, is expected to complete his interview on Thursday.
The Gering School Board plans to finalize a contract before their meeting on Dec. 14.
