Arterburn joins the Nebraska Grazing Lands Coalition as the Western Nebraska Program Coordinator

The Nebraska Grazing Lands Coalition (NGLC) is pleased to announce Jack Arterburn has joined our team as the Western Nebraska Program Coordinator. Jack’s focus will be to provide grazing education and technical assistance to producers in Western Nebraska.

NGLC is a non-profit organization led by a volunteer board of producers focused on creating public awareness and improvement of the grazing lands in Nebraska. Through coordinated efforts with The Nature Conservancy and local stakeholders and agencies, Arterburn’s aim is to expand the network of collaborators to work together to build awareness, capacity, and plans to sustain working lands and increase drought resilience through grazing management.

In this role, Arterburn will coordinate educational opportunities and technical assistance to help producers transition their operations towards regenerative practices, connect producers to funding opportunities to provide compensation for ecosystem benefits provided by this management, and create opportunities for producers to connect with one another to discuss and support the implementation of innovative ideas.

Jack brings a wealth of experience including bachelor’s and master’s degrees in range livestock management from UNL, 8 years as a Nebraska Extension Beef Systems Educator providing northern panhandle producers educational opportunities and resources, and ranching experience.

Jack and his wife live outside of Chadron, Nebraska with their 5 children.
