The annual Alliance Community-Wide Garage Sale, organized by the Alliance Times-Herald, is set to take place on July 5, July 6 and July 7, and people have one last opportunity to advertise their sale on the official map that will be published on July 3.
“I would say the community-wide garage sale has generated a lot of interest in the past,” said Shaun Friedrichsen, ATH Publisher. “In the past, we’ve had people contacting us right up to the deadline to have their sales advertised and to get their stars on the map. I would encourage people to take part in this opportunity.”
People who want to have their sales listed on the official community-wide garage sale map have until Friday, June 28 at 4 p.m. to contact the Alliance Times-Herald. The ads, which feature a listing, as well as a star on the map, cost $1 for 30 words.
Friedrichsen decided to organize the community-wide garage sale as a way to bring the community closer together, and to help the local economy.
“The garage sale weekend is an opportunity for residents to come together and interact with their neighbors. It’s a good opportunity, not only for those wishing to clean out unused items, but also for those looking to get out and hunt for deals. The idea behind this service project is to bring the community together,” Friedrichsen said.
