Barbara Jean (Lewis) Shrewsbury, 82, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at Highland Park Care Center.
She was born October 22, 1936 in Valentine, Nebraska to Lester Richard and Dorothy May (Carpenter) Lewis. In 1954 she was united in marriage Bert Shrewsbury. He passed away August 6, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, George Lewis, Mary Dennis and Dick Lewis.
Her survivors are her children, Penny and Dave Johannes of Hemingford, Pepper Shrewsbury Roberson of Chadron, Tom and Peggy Shrewsbury of Alliance, Ted and Laura Shrewsbury of Cheyenne, WY and Kris Shrewsbury of Rapid City, SD. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild and also her sister, Linda Sutphen of Alliance and nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at a later date. The family would prefer memorials be given to any horse sanctuary.
