Barbara L. Bowen, age 72, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming to the late Robert Kenneth and Dorothy Mae Asiala Francis. In August 1961 the Francis family moved to Alliance Nebraska. Barbara graduated from Alliance High School in 1967 and attended Beauty School in Englewood, CO. where she met her husband Jerry. After their marriage in August of 1968 they moved to Jerry’s hometown, Murfreesboro TN where she was employed as a beautician and later at General Electric Co. Barb and Jerry’s home was the gathering place for family celebrations, Sunday dinners, and the most enjoyable backyard swimming pool gatherings.
Barbara is survived by her beloved and caring husband of 52 years, Jerry Bowen; daughters, Shonda Davenport, grandchildren Chase Bowen (Jennell) and Kaylee (Corey) Davenport; Tracy (Wayne) Taylor and granddaughter Katelynn; and Brandy (Josh) Aaron, grandchildren Austin, Caleb,and Cayden Aaron. Great grandchildren are Raelyn, Camden and Caeson Bowen, Emery and McKinlee Roden, and her sister, Becky (Rick) Herian of Alliance.
