Box Butte Development Corporation is hosting two rural fellows for a summer internship program from May 31 through July 21. Marissa Lindemann and Ritu Jadwani will spend their time working with local businesses in Alliance and Hemingford on marketing resources and strategies. Additionally, they will spend time within the community volunteering at various organizations.
Lindemann is a broadcasting major in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She says she can’t wait to use her storytelling skills to share what Box Butte County has to offer. “Marketing is all about storytelling, and I love that I have the opportunity to help local businesses tell their story,” Lindemann said.
Jadwani is a doctoral student in Merchandising at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She says she is looking forward to sharing her entrepreneurship experiences and research skills to help local businesses. “Trend forecasting, market research and sustainability are some key aspects of running a business in today’s scenario,” Jadwani said.
The Rural Fellowship program has been connecting college students with rural Nebraska communities since 2013. Communities submit projects during the application process and are then paired with fellows based on the student’s skillset. During this immersive 7-week internship, fellows work on a variety of projects to give back to the rural communities.
