BBGH and BBHF Scholarship Recipients Announced

Box Butte General Hospital and Box Butte Health Foundation are excited to announce the 2025 Scholarship recipients! Five high school seniors and 10 college students currently enrolled in courses were awarded $2,000 scholarships to assist in furthering their healthcare, business, or financial education.

BBGH High School Recipients:

Bailey Shannon: Bailey will be attending Wayne State College in the fall of 2025, majoring in pre-nursing. After completing her undergraduate studies, she plans to attend University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing. Her goal is to work in labor and delivery or pediatric nursing.

Emma Machado: Emma will be enrolled at Northern State University in South Dakota, majoring in nursing. Her plan is to first earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and then continue her education to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).

Avy Knapp: Avy will be attending Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she plans to major in Radiography. She hopes to specialize in either MRI or Ultrasound.

Hannah Schneider: Hannah plans to attend McCook Community College to earn her Associate of Science degree. She then intends to transfer to Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and later pursue a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) to become a nurse practitioner.

Hallie Schneider: Hallie will complete her nursing prerequisites at McCook Community College. Afterward, she plans to transfer to Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). She has high hopes of becoming a pediatric nurse.

BBGH College Recipients:

Dalton Krug: Dalton will be attending University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing for the traditional BSN program. Upon graduation, he hopes to continue working in the Emergency Room at BBGH and eventually return to school to earn his Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).

Myca Cantrell: Myca is currently in her first year of the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program at Western Nebraska Community College and will begin her second year in the fall of 2025. Her goal is to become a registered nurse.

Kylie Casados: Kylie will graduate from the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program at Western Nebraska Community College in May. She has accepted a position on the Patient Care Unit at BBGH and plans to continue into the Registered Nurse program, with the goal of becoming a labor and delivery nurse.

Abigail Burri: Abigail will continue her education at Southeast Community College through the summer, graduating in December 2025 with an Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology. After completing her board exams, she hopes to remain at BBGH in the Imaging Department.

Shurron Fleming: In the fall of 2025, Shurron will begin the Advanced Placement Associate Degree in Nursing (AD-N) program at Western Nebraska Community College to pursue her goal of becoming a Registered Nurse.

BBHF College Recipients:

Madison Hiemstra: Madison will be attending University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). She plans to continue working as a Registered Nurse on the Patient Care Unit at BBGH.

Avian Moreno: Avian is currently enrolled in the Medical Laboratory Technician program at Western Nebraska Community College. Upon graduation, Avian plans to enroll in a Medical Laboratory Scientist program.

Angela Davis: Angela is currently attending nursing school at University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing in Norfolk, NE. She will complete her final year and graduate in the spring of 2026. Afterward, she plans to return to the Alliance area to work as a Registered Nurse.

Jaelynne Clarke: Jaelynne plans to attend Chadron State College in the fall for pre-nursing, where she will complete her prerequisites before transferring to University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing to enter the nursing program.

Addisyn Muhr: This year, Addisyn plans to attend Western Nebraska Community College. In January, she will apply to a radiology program, which she intends to begin in the 2026–2027 school year.
