Box Butte General Hospital is excited to announce, after nine years of providing great care in multiple roles, Erica Lauder, MSN, RN, CNOR has accepted the role of Chief Nursing Officer.
Lauder graduated from Alliance High School in 2009 and completed her college education at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona with a Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Science. She returned to her hometown, Alliance, working as a para-educator for speech classes, and began taking prerequisite courses for Nursing. In 2016, Lauder completed the Accelerated BSN program at University of Nebraska Medical Center and joined the BBGH team in the Surgery Department. Shortly after, she was promoted to the Surgery Coordinator and focused on education and supporting her staff. In 2020, she continued up the ladder and became the Clinical Nurse Manager, leading the Surgery, Cardiac Rehab, Multispecialty Clinic, and Infusion departments.
“I love our community and BBGH,” Lauder said, “I believe we are doing great things and are continuously trying to keep care in our community. I enjoy getting to know people and making connections.”
She added that she looks forward to working closely with all of the different departments of nursing and leading the Quality Division, which is a new addition to this role. “This will be a new challenge that will allow me to learn and apply new things,” she said. Other general responsibilities of the CNO include: overseeing all the hospital nursing staff and administrative responsibilities for Dialysis, Emergency Department, Multispecialty services, Infusion and Wound Care services, Intensive Care Unit, Patient Care Unit, Surgery, Pharmacy, Cardio-pulmonary Rehab, Obstetrics, Nursery, Respiratory Therapy/Electrodiagnostics, Diabetes Education, Senior Life Solutions, and Nursing Education.
Lauder also has a strong passion for helping others outside the doors of BBGH. For the last three years Erica has helped coach the Alliance High School volleyball team. “I love to watch teamwork,” she said, “I have developed relationships with many students and their families and enjoy seeing their leadership and skillsets continuously improve.”
The executive officers at BBGH welcome Erica to the senior leadership team and look forward to seeing all the great things she will accomplish as BBGH’s new Chief Nursing Officer.
When she’s not working, you can find Erica golfing, playing (or watching, or coaching) volleyball, playing cribbage, traveling, and spending time with her family.
