Betty Darlene (Koozer) McDonald, 86 of Alliance, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 peacefully at her home with her family by her side. Memorial services will be at a later date.
Betty was born in Alliance, NE on May 4, 1934 to Raily and Mary Koozer. She was born the 3rd of 11 children. She attended Alliance Public School and then country school until she graduated from Antioch. The family respectfully asks all memorials be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Betty met Tom McDonald and was later married on February 12, 1953 in Alliance, NE on. They were lifelong residents of the Alliance area. They raised 5 boys. She worked at Murphy’s, Penny’s, Gibson’s, Clarus Corp, Family Vision, and greeting card distribution. She loved bowling, gambling, traveling, walking, betting on their home raised race horses, collecting salt and pepper shakers, and most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband Tom, children Jim (Helen) McDonald, Bill (Becky) McDonald, Ed (Sue) McDonald, Don (Pam) McDonald, Bob (Kathy) McDonald, grandchildren Andrea McDonald, Alicia (Jayson) Keller, Alaina (Brandon) Schaneman, Logan McDonald, Barry McDonald, Cassie McDonald, Chris (Carissa) McDonald, Jacob (Brittany) McDonald, Miranda McDonald (Ethan Allen), T.J McDonald, Jake (Hailey) McDonald, Jess McDonald, and great-grandchildren Hayden McDonald, Aiden McDonald, Hunter McDonald, Jackson McDonald, Zane Keller, Chase Keller. Siblings Bill (Carolyn) Koozer, Jean Seidler, Shirley Sulzbach, Sharon Nollette, Toni Fanning, Alan (Tammie) Koozer, sister-in-law Denise Koozer, her in-laws, George McDonald, Ester (Arnold) Rogers, Elaine Heisey, Jerry McDonald, John Stark, Helen (Kenny) White, Kathy Keaton, and numerous other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Raily and Mary Koozer, infant son Robert, infant sister Rose Marie, sister Leota (Jack) Lawler, brother Raily (Colleen) Koozer, mother and father in law Tim and Ester McDonald, in laws Wilbur Seidler, Francis (Ione) McDonald, Dorothy McDonald, Sharon Stark, Kathy Keaton, George Sulzbach, and Don Fanning.
