Betty Mae (Dupier) Burton, 86, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the home of Dean and Kelly.
Betty was born in Coalgate, Oklahoma on April 26, 1938 to Arthur and Emily (Moses) Dupier, joining four brothers and four sisters. She was raised in Rock Springs, Wyoming, where she met Dale Burton. They were married on June 3, 1956. To this union, four children were born. The family eventually made their home in Alliance, Nebraska.
Betty worked for many years at the CB&Q, Western Heritage, Credit Union, retiring in 2001. Betty and Dale owned B&D Rentals for many years, renovating houses with Dale for rentals or to sell. Many of her family, friends and co-workers received gifts of crocheted doilies, which she enjoyed creating.
She was a member of Burlington Vets, RSVP, was an Admiral in the Great Navy of Nebraska and was recognized in 2013 as “Boss of the Year” by the Alliance Volunteer Fire Department.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers and sisters, her husband Dale, and daughter Rhonda Wubben.
She is survived by her children; Carolyn (Marty) Jones, Dale Burton, Jr., Richard Dean (Kelly) Burton; her son-in-law Dennis Wubben; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel. Mr. Gene Nerland will officiate. Inurnment will follow in the Alliance Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alliance Volunteer Fire Department or Brookstone Hospice.
