Big Win over Gordon Gives White Squad Thirteenth Victory

Nine runs in the top of the fourth were more than enough for the Alliance White team Thursday night in Legion action played in Gordon. The Spartans took down the Regulators 17 to 2 to improve to 13 and 1 on the season. Alliance has now won 13 games in a row. The Peltz Co had an 8 to 2 lead after three innings before plating 9 in their final attempt in getting the victory. Four Spartans took the hill with EJ Garcia getting the start. Also pitching for Alliance were: Jackson Smith, Miguel Galvan, and Tanner Salcido. Three Spartans ended the night with 2 hits each. They were: Jaxon Poss, Creighton Fritzler, and Mikey Johnson. The Peltz Co finished the evening with 10 hits total.

Both teams had success in the first inning. The Spartans took a 2 to 0 advantage with knocks by Poss, Fritzler, and Smith to surge ahead. Security First came back with 2 of their own in the bottom of the frame. A couple of hits and an Alliance passed ball tied the contest at 2 after one inning of action. Momentum then went to the guests in inning #2. Alliance tallied 5 runs to gain control. A leadoff double by Teagan O’Gorman began the spree. It was followed by triples off the bat of Poss and Kegan Nelson as the Alliance lead grew to 2. Nelson would eventually steal home to make the score 5 to 2. Gordon’s defense then failed. Alliance took advantage of a Regulator error and passed ball to go by 5. Both Garcia and Smith would record strikeouts in the bottom of the inning to keep the Spartans ahead. After 2 innings of play, Alliance was up by 5.

Inning #3 saw one more tally by the Peltz Co. The White added to their lead after a pitch struck Garcia. Another miscue by the hosts resulted in run 8. Another 2 base knock, this one by Lexton Salcido, made the score 10 to 2. The Alliance margin increased after an error by Gordon and a passed ball allowed another tally. With the bases full, Poss drove in another run after being struck by a pitch. Nelson ensued and his RBI ground out made the score 13 to 2. The inning came to a close with 2 two run scoring hits by Fritzler and Johnson. Gordon went quietly in the bottom of the fourth. Final Peltz Co 17 Security First 2
