The three-months-old child of P. F. Collins was poisoned Wednesday noon. It seems that the little one is just recovering from a spinal trouble, and in giving it medicine the mother unintentionally poured part of the contents of a cup of lye water into the medicine left by Dr. Lucas, thinking it was pure water.

A twelve-year-old boy by the name of Kormann was taken to Omaha Tuesday afternoon for a surgical operation in the hope that a limb might be saved. He had a limb injured by the falling of a horse about five weeks ago.

A day or two ago the man decided to change locations, and went to the home of Mr. Kish to take up his abiding place. In the meantime Miss Lenna Bayse missed from the home a novelty “second” clock upon which she always has set much store because of its uniqueness and rarity.

Free rural delivery out of Alliance, with service extending to nearly 100 farmers living within a nine-mile radius north, east and south of the city, is a probability of the near future, according to Post Office Inspector R. D. Wetherell of Kansas City, who accompanied by Postmaster Robert Graham, spent yesterday and Sunday inspecting the proposed mail route.

Monoxide gas fumes from a water heater overcame two Alliance boys, Gene Neuswanger and Howard Walker, as they were playing Wednesday afternoon in the basement of the Neuswanger home, 415 Toluca. A doctor was immediately summoned and administered first aid to the boys, reviving them quickly.

Rust in Box Butte County wheat has reached “epidemic” proportions, according to Dr. Virgil Johnson, a regional coordinator and wheat breeder for the United States Department of Agriculture. After his tour of the county, Johnson predicted that many fields would not be worth “putting a machine in to harvest”, according to County Agent Don Miller.

Judge Brian Silverman sentenced one woman to the Nebraska State Penitentiary on Tuesday. Adamson, 44, of Alliance was sentenced to 20 to 36 months in the women’s state penitentiary in York on one count of theft, a Class III felony.

Abby Bright was chosen by the Voyageurs International to participate in The Nebraska Ambassadors of Music concert series, to go on a 17-day trip around Europe and perform.
