The Hemingford Golf team competed extremely well at the Leyton Golf Invitational in Sidney on April 28, where they had earned silver medals for their second place finish in Division 2 with a team score of 400.
The Bobcats had three players finish in the top 10: Dax Powell, who earned the bronze shooting a score of 92, Darren McConville placed fifth, where he had shot a score of 95, and Drew Varner shot a 102 and finished 10th place.
“What a beautiful day for golf on a beautiful course. We are so proud of how everyone performed today. On one of the more challenging courses that we get to play, we are very happy with the results. We also received one of the best compliments from an opposing coach about all of our guys. Hemingford should be proud to have these young men represent their community with such respect, honor and all around good character. It is an absolute pleasure to coach these young men and I truly enjoy watching them have so much success in the field of golf. Way to go, Bobcats,” said Coach Joe Collins.
The following are the results for the Hemingford Boys Golf team:
Dax Powell – 92
Daren McConville – 95
Drew Varner – 102
Ethan Specht – 111

Team Total: 347
