With an eighth place finish in the 2 mile relay, the Hemingford boy’s junior high track team concluded
a very successful year. The Bobcats medaled in the relay at the state meet in Gothenburg on Saturday. Team members were: Andrew Miller, Fletcher Moseman, James Lanier, and Zane Frost. Their time of 9:33 was 12 seconds faster than their qualifying time of 9:45 recorded at Morrill on May 8.
Miller had the best spilt in the relay with a time of 2:20 while Moseman was clocked at 2:22. Close behind was Lanier who had a time of 2:23 and Frost with a 2:26. In the time races, Columbus Scotus was first in the boys while Northwest was the winner for the girls.
“Hemingford JH Boys 4×8 earned a spot to compete in the All-Class JH Nebraska State Championship Meet on 5/17 in Gothenburg. Andrew Miller, Fletcher Moseman, James Lanier, and Zane Frost improved their season best time by 12 seconds and earned a spot on the medal stand with an 8th place finish!” said Coach Joshua Dean.
