Box Butte County 4-H Invites Youth to Monthlong Celebration

Every year, Nebraska 4-H Month brings thousands of young people, parents, volunteers, and alumni together to celebrate all the ways in which 4-H helps youth find a place where they belong. Across the state, Nebraska 4-H invites community members to celebrate:

4-H Volunteer Appreciation Day on Thursday, February 8

4-H Supporters and Donors Appreciation Day on Thursday, February 15

Day of 4-H Service or Give Back to Your Community on Thursday, February 22

Leap into 4-H – Get Enrolled on 4-HOnline on Thursday, February 29

4-H Spirit Day was celebrated on Thursday, February 1.

Box Butte County 4-H will observe 4-H Month this year by inviting youth to participate in the fun theme days! Even though 4-H Spirit day was the first of February, youth can wear all their favorite 4-H shirts throughout the month. For Volunteer Appreciation Day, we are asking 4-Hers to share a story or highlight about a 4-H volunteer. This can come from past and present members. Visit: go.unl.edu/6974 to submit your story. At the end of 4-H month we will share them through our Nebraska Extension Box Butte County Facebook page and our Instagram account @bbc.4h. On Supporter and Donor Appreciation day write a thank you note or personally tell a 4-H supporter thank you for all they do to help the Box Butte County 4-H Program! Without our donors and supporters we would not have awards for fair, or be able to do school enrichment or afterschool programs. On Give Back to your Community Day we are encouraging 4-H members to send cards to residents in the nursing home, or participate in a 4-H Club or other group or individual service project. Lastly, youth are invited to join 4-H and complete the annual enrollment process on Leap Day. Leap into 4-H by becoming enrolled members; youth have the opportunity to join a club, exhibit projects at the county and State Fair, participate in contests, and apply for special awards and recognition. Visit 4h.unl.edu/enroll to learn more. Nebraska 4-H is dedicated to helping all youth thrive by helping youth find their spark, develop a sense of belonging, foster positive relationships with caring adults and inclusive and safe environments, and provide quality learning engagement for all young people.

This 4-H month, Nebraska 4-H is having a photography contest.
