The Box Butte County Public Speaking Contest will be held on April 12 at 6 p.m. at the Extension Office. NEW this year, the Grand Champion and Reserve Champion Speech Participants will receive a plaque. Youth between the ages of 5 and 18 are invited to participate.
If members are completing a speech, they must have 4-H be the main component of the speech. Clover Kids is under two minutes, Juniors must speak between 1-3 minutes, Intermediates have between 3-5 minutes, and Seniors have between 5-8 minutes.
If members would like to create a PSA, the requirements are no longer than 60 seconds. It has to
utilize the 2021 theme “Opportunity 4 All” and include the tag line “Learn more about the
Nebraska Extension 4-H Youth Development Program at 4h.unl.edu.”

Five members from the Intermediate and Senior age divisions will be allowed to compete at the
State Speech competition on June 30 in Lincoln.
