Boyer and Sanders End Bulldog Athletic Careers at State Meet in Omaha

Omaha Burke High School played host to the 2025 Nebraska State track and field meet. Classes A and

B took part in the event on Wednesday and Thursday May 21 and 22. Classes C and D take the track on Friday and Saturday May 23 and 24. Alliance had 2 athletes who participated on Thursday. Hurdler Josie Sanders for the 4 straight year competed in the 300 hurdles. Sanders ended with a time of 48.4 which was good for sixth in the second heat and fifteenth overall. Payton Boyer finished 23rd in the boy’s long jump with a leap of 19’11. Both Bulldogs were recent graduates.

Team titles for Class B went to the Waverly boys who ended with 73 points with Gretna East second at 64 points. Taking first in the girl’s division was Bennington who tallied 80 points while finishing second was Waverly who had 69 points.
