Last week I wrote about living to please God. In continuing that thought, the Bible has some specifics which bring pleasure to God and can also bring pleasure to us. Hebrews, chapter 11, reveals the result of living by faith. Verse 6 reveals that without faith we cannot please God. Faith, as mentioned in verses 1 and 2, is living in a way which pleases God, even though we cannot see God Himself. Of course, living by faith is not unusual for us. We breathe air when we can’t see it. We flip an electric switch to turn on a light when we don’t see the electricity. However, we do see and know the results of those things happening.
In the same way we can’t see God, but we can experience the results of believing in God and living obedient to Him. Read Hebrews, chapter 11, for the evidence of living by faith.
So, confidence in God preparing for our salvation in Christ becomes real by faith. By faith I believe, with assurance, that “God made Him (Jesus) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God” (II Corinthians 5:21).
