Bulldog Wrestlers Start Season Strong with Solid Showings at Ogallala and Cozad

Road matches in Ogallala on Friday and Cozad on Saturday is how the 2025-2026 wrestling year began for the Alliance Bulldog squad. And both events, the Dogs were solid. AHS took down Ogallala in a duel meet 50 to 24 to began a super weekend. On Saturday, Alliance travel to the big Cozad Invite. Fourteen schools competed in the Invitational. They were: Alliance, Aurora, Cozad, Gering, Gothenburg, Gretna East, Hastings, Lexington, McCook, Mitchell, Ogallala, Platteview, Plattsmouth, and Sidney.

Top finisher for the Bulldogs was defeating state champ Coy Childers who was first at 126. Childers was named the meet’s most outstanding wrestler by the coaches! Taking second at 215 was junior Lucas Weber. Alliance also had a champ in the JV level with Eddie Red Nest winning gold at 157. Alliance had 7 wrestlers on the varsity division that placed in the top four.
