Cold and very windy conditions greeted track athletes from Alliance and Hemingford Friday in a triangular meet held at Bulldog Stadium. Chadron also competed in the event as all the schools started their seasons. No team scores were compiled. Winning golds for the Alliance girl’s squad were: Macey Seebohm in the 800, Josie Sanders in the 300 hurdles, Shyla Salcido in the shot put, Alexis Libsack in the long jump, and the 400 relay. Team members in the relay: Sanders, Lexi Lopez, Kaelyn Mazanec, and Brooke Bailey. The Hemingford girls had a pair of gold medalists in Aurora Hinman in the 400 and Dakota Horstman in the pole vault.
On the boy’s side, the Bobcats had many first place finishers. They were: Jayce Haas in the 200, Boady Hunter in the 800, Austin Benda in the mile and 2 mile, Gavin Bell in the 110 hurdles. Zaine Feist in the 300 hurdles, Michael Helmink in both the shot and discus, Gattlen Bell in the unified shot, Kaiden Casey in the high jump, and Eli Hunter in the pole vault. Alliance ended the meet with 6 first place finishers with senior Peyton Boyer leading the way. Boyer claimed gold in both the long and triple jumps. Also taking home a pair of golds was Jordan Chubick-Schneider who won the unified 100 and long jump. Freshman Jackson Shelmadine took first in the 400 while the Bulldogs also won the 3200 relay. Team members in the 2 mile relay were: Devin Graham, Asher Saka, Will Zurn, and Preston Flores.

New Hemingford High School ALL-TIME TOP 10 performances from the meet:
-Michael Helmink Jr. now #10 in the Shot Put (43’7.75), passing Gene Fosket (1955).
-Ainslee Woltman now #9 in the Pole Vault (6’6”), passing Rylie Wright (2021) and Lilli Hasenauer-Brown (2021).
-Aurora Hinman now #7 in the 100mH (17.68), passing Kamryn Ash (2019).
-Eli Hunter now tied for #6 in the Pole Vault (10’ 0”), passing Gavin Bell (2023), Kade Weber (2015), Carson Haas (2024), and Talon Payne (2024).
-Kaiden Casey now tied for #5 in the High Jump with Brandon Chancellor and John Manning, passing Joe Planansky (1962), Keirith Yale (2024), and Rick Sper (1962).
Alliance will go to Pine Bluffs on Friday while the Cats will travel to Morrill on Saturday.
