The one-two punch of Sidney quarterback Isak Doty and running back Luke Holly were on full display Friday in the final game of the year for the Alliance football squad. Both Red Raider back tallied over 100 yards as Sidney down the Bulldogs 56 to 20. Doty ended with 137 yards on 9 attempts while Holly notched 114 yards on 15 carries to power the Raiders to the win. Both players registered 2 touchdown runs each. With the loss the Bulldog season comes to end with a 2 and 7 record while the Raiders go into the playoffs with an 8 and 1 record.
The scoring began for the Raiders in the first period on a 36 yard touchdown run by Holly at the 5:58 mark of the quarter. Alliance would get a nice completion from quarterback Landen Crowe to receiver Seth Meyring for 14 yards but then forced to punt. A Sidney 45 yard touchdown pass gave the hosts another score and made the Bulldog deficit 14 to 0 at the 3:59 mark of the opening period. Alliance would go three and out of their next drive. Following another short Bulldog punt, the Red Raiders got on the scoreboard again with 28 yard touchdown pass which put the hosts up 20 to 0. The period came to close with Crowe connecting with Tristen Timbers on a 70 yard bomb that sliced the Sidney lead. Crowe then pass to Matthew Moomey for the pat as the quarter ended with Sidney up 20 to 8. The second saw more offense by the Raiders. Two Sidney touchdowns pushed their lead to 35 to 8. At the 5 minute mark Crowe pass to Meyring for a touchdown that covered 11 yards. Unfortunately the Raiders answered back quickly on the ensuing kick. The Sidney return raced down the sidelines for a 78 yard touchdown run which put Alliance down 42 to 14. Another score by Sidney ended the half with Alliance down 49 to 14.
Sidney would get the ball first in the third and continue their strong offense. A fumble recovery by Espen Lanik would stop the Raider series and give the Dogs the ball deep into their own territory. The period would come to a close with another Bulldog punt and Sidney up 49 to 14. At 10:56 mark the Raiders scored again as their lead grew to 56 to 14. A 40 yard pass from Crowe to Timbers set up the game’s final score. Crowe found Jonah Amill in the end zone from the four yard line. Final Sidney 56 Alliance 14
