Another stout defensive effort was on display on Saturday by the Alliance 8th grade football squad. The Bulldogs shut out the Cardinals from Chadron in the opening half and went to post a 30 to 16 win.
With win the Dogs improved to 2 and 0 on the year. Chadron won the seventh grade game 44 to 6 in the opener as the AMS falls to 0 and 2.
Alliance received the ball first and used the entire quarter but failed to score. AMS would block a punt by the Cards early in the second. A four yard touchdown run by Dog Caysen Robertson gave Alliance the early advantage. Robertson then tack on the extra point and early in the second quarter AMS lead
8 to 0. The half ended with two big plays by Bulldog Jackson Devlin. The AMS receiver had an interception and a 17 yard touchdown reception from QB Jay Shelmadine. Robertson added the PAT and the teams went to half with AMS ahead 16 to 0. The Bulldogs would score two more times in the second half to pull away. Chadron ended the game also with a pair of scores but it wasn’t enough final AMS 30 Chadron 16.

In the opener the visiting Cardinals grabbed and early lead and never trailed. Chadron raced to a big margin in the first half and went for the 44 to 6 win. The lone touchdown for the Bulldogs came in the third on a long run by Isiah Garcia.
