Beef was always a staple on the table when I was growing up. Ground beef, baked beans, and a side of buttered bread provided the perfect combination for lunch when we needed something quick, easy, and filling.
When I started college, this recipe was easy enough for me not to mess up and provided a hearty, reasonably priced meal. Plus, I still occasionally enjoy it with my family.
The value of beef is that there are a number of options that provide quality nutrition, from a rib-eye steak to ground beef and baked beans. – Enjoy!
Beef and Beans Recipe
Prep time – 25 minutes
Cook time – 35 minutes
Servings – 12
Ingredients
1 1/4 pounds hamburger (lean)
1 medium onion finely chopped
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1/3 cup ketchup
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce28 ounces baked beans store-bought
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Add the hamburger and chopped onion to a Dutch oven. Cook over medium heat until the hamburger is no longer pink and the onion is tender. Drain any excess grease.
Add the mustard, ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce and stir in.
Add the can of beans and stir in.
Place the beans in the preheated oven and bake for 40 minutes.
Remove from the oven give a final stir and serve.
