The American Legion Post 7 and Sallow’s Museum is honored to conduct a flag disposal ceremony on Friday, Sept. 16 at the Museum at 1101 Niobrara Ave, Alliance, NE at 8:30 am.
The observance of proper respect for the Flag of our country and the education of our citizenry in the proper courtesies to be paid the Flag is an essential element of The American Legion’s program since 1937.
The approved method of disposing of unserviceable Flags has long beem that they be destroyed by burning.
Also, the purpose of this Ceremony for Disposal of Unserviceable Flags is to have a dignified tribute to the U.S. flag and to its symbolism, as well as encourage proper respect for the Flag of the United States.
If anyone has an unserviceable flag that is in need of disposal, you may drop it off at the Museum at your earliest convenience.
The community is encourage to attend, weather permitting and while you are there take in the Museum.
