Christmas List

Santa arrives this Sunday night!

Here is what I hope is included in his sleigh full of goodies.

Nebraska Volleyball: A National Championship in 2024 in front of a sellout crowd in Louisville, KY.

Nebraska Baseball: A ticket to the 2024 College World Series to be played in their backyard of Omaha.

Nebraska Football: A minimum of nine wins and then a victory in a respectable bowl game.

Nebraska Men’s Basketball: Two victories in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

Nebraska Women’s Basketball: A sellout crowd at pinnacle Bank arena when Jordan Hooper’s jersey banner is raised to the rafters on January 7.

Alliance Girls’ Basketball: A ticket to the State Tournament in Lincoln in March.

Alliance Boys’ Basketball: That a six-foot-seven-inch, 240-pound sophomore with advanced basketball skills moves to Alliance on January 2 and applies for court time. A ticket to the State Tournament would be a bow on that package.

Alliance Wrestling Teams: That every grappler qualifies for the state tournament in Omaha in February. Especially sweet Pearl Mayhew at 135 pounds.

Hemingford: May your Ledger newspaper be filled with continued great stories of your youth’s accomplishments in the classroom, stage, field, court and many other venues.

Farmers and Ranchers: Timely and gentle snowfalls and rainfalls.

Times-Herald: Increased publication. I need more people reading my column. A special thanks to Shaun Friedrichsen for generously providing newspaper space each week to allow me to visit with you.

KCOW Radio: A quality adjustment to life without Mike.

Mike Glesinger: A smooth transition from being at everyone’s beck and call to rest, relaxation and reflection.

Jason Wentworth: Improved health. Is there a lonely kidney out there? Jason will give it a home.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift: Privacy. Personally, I think they make a cute couple. I also have listened to some of her songs on YouTube. She is beautiful. She can sing, too. And I know what he can do on a football field.

Kansas City Chiefs: Just play like you are capable.

Patrick Mahomes: More dependable receivers.

Denver Broncos: Let me get back to you.

Chicago Cubs: World Series Champions.

To my family and friends: I love you just the way you are.

To you and yours: good health, happiness, robust finances, and a heart filled with compassion, love and the spirit of Jesus Christ.

Merry Christmas!
