At their meeting on Jan. 7, the Alliance City Council Members proclaimed the week of Jan. 26-Feb. 2 as Catholic Schools week.
Council Member Brian Mischnick read the proclamation at the meeting before presenting it to students from St. Agnes Academy, noting the school has been a part of the community for more than 112 years.
“St. Agnes prepares its students not only with fine academic training, but also with spiritual values that will make them good citizens able to contribute to their community and become the leaders of the future,” Mischnick read.
At their meeting on Jan. 20, the council is expected to proclaim Jan. 26-Feb. 2 as Lutheran Schools Week as well, though more details were not available as of press time.
