Story Time and More at Alliance Public Library
Story Time for ages 3-6 at Alliance Public Library will feature Fire Safety with Alliance Fire Department on October 7 and 9, On the Farm for October 14 and 16, Favorite Colors for October 21 and 23 then Spooktacular Stories, Halloween Safety with Alliance Police Department and Costume Parade for October 28 and 30. Story Time meets on Tuesdays at 10 am and Thursdays at 1 pm in the Children’s Room with several stories, birthdays, music, puppets and craft.
Preschool through second grade are invited to Search for Gertie Ghost from October 1 through 31 during library hours with one prize per day and one prize per child.
Digital Detox Friday on October 3 will feature Halloween Magnets for preschool and over from 10-11 am in the APL Community Room. Color a Halloween magnet to take home, with several designs to choose from plus all supplies are provided with no charge.
Halloween Reading Challenge at Alliance Public Library
Join Alliance Public Library for Halloween Reading Challenges during October with all items checked out from the APL collection.
Grades K-3 can participate in Halloween Bingo. For each line of five completed squares, you can submit your name into a prize drawing for a Halloween basket.
Grade 4 through age 15 can participate in a Halloween drawing by checking out books with Halloween themes. Prize drawing will be a Halloween bucket.
Ages 16 and over can participate in Halloween Bingo. For each line of four completed squares, you can submit your name into a prize drawing for a Halloween basket.
Beginning October 1, pick up your Halloween cards at the circulation desk. Prize drawings will be Thursday, October 30 at 3 pm so remember to complete your entries at the circulation desk before this time. Each prize will include several treats with no tricks. LEGO Club and Adventure Book Club at Alliance Public Library
LEGO Club for grades K-2 will meet on Tuesdays, October 7 and 21 and grades 3-5 will meet on Tuesday, October 14 from 4-5 pm in the APL Community Room.
Adventure Book Club for grades 3-5 will meet on Tuesday, October 28 from 4:30-5:30 pm in the APL Community Room. Our discussion will feature The Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne. There are many fiction titles to choose from as well as several graphic novels in this series. This group will also share time working collaboratively with their own written and illustrative projects.
