City of Alliance Urges Compliance with Vegetation Maintenance Ordinance

The City of Alliance is issuing a gentle reminder to all residents regarding the importance of adhering to Ordinance No. 2882 concerning the planting and upkeep of vegetation in alleyways, sidewalks, and roads.

It is incumbent upon property owners or occupants to ensure that tree branches, brushes, and shrubs are regularly pruned, thereby preventing any encroachment onto publicly utilized road surfaces. Additionally, the ordinance stipulates that streets and alleys must remain clear of any growth exceeding eight inches in height, inclusive of weeds, grasses, or other undesirable vegetation.

Moreover, for the safety of pedestrians and motorists, it is mandated that tree branches extending over the street maintain a clearance height of 13 feet 6 inches, while those over sidewalks should be trimmed to a height of 8 feet.

Failure to comply with this ordinance will result in the citation of responsible parties, as such violations are deemed to be a nuisance. This regulation is enacted with the utmost consideration for the safety of our citizens and the well-being of utility workers who rely on unobstructed access to our roadways.

For detailed guidelines on the trimming of branches, bushes, and shrubs, please consult Ordinance No. 2882, accessible on the City of Alliance website at www.cityofallaince.net.
