The class of ’62 graduated 62 years ago this June. Some 20-plus strong will be in town for a reunion the weekend of 20/22 June. Among other things, they intend to reinforce their commitment to the class Opportunities Grants, administered through the APS Foundation. The grant is not designed to assist with tuition and college expenses but rather offers students and faculty an opportunity to enhance their formal education. Over the seventeen years the grant has been offered, nearly forty students and faculty, receiving grants from $500 to $5000, have seized on the opportunity to supplement their classroom experiences. Workshops, intensive camps and study abroad are but a few examples of funded experiences. The one notable exception was in 2017 when no applications were funded. Since the class couldn’t enhance Alliance one way, they decided on another. That year they had the sign on the Rhoad’s building repainted.
Of equal importance, the class will honor ten classmates who have been responsible for organizing the dozen plus reunions over the past decades.
