Several Receive Degrees from UNL

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln conferred 1,172 degrees during commencement exercises Dec. 15 and 16 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

The 1,159 graduates are from 48 countries; 39 U.S. states and the District of Columbia; and more than 150 Nebraska communities.

Chancellor Rodney D. Bennett presided over the ceremonies.

The following is a list of area graduates:

Madison Elizabeth Adam, of Alliance, College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics with high distinction.

Mya Ann Johnson, of Alliance, College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, Bachelor of Science in Animal Science.

Elise Anne Stoike, of Alliance, College of Education and Human Sciences, Bachelor of Science in Education and Human Sciences.

CSC Honors Grads

Chadron State College’s Winter Commencement took place Dec. 15 in the Chicoine Center at 2 p.m. Jovan Mays, a 2010 CSC graduate, was Chadron State College’s Winter Commencement speaker. One-hundred and six candidates for bachelor’s degrees were honored. The following is a list of area graduates:

Mackenzie Broderick of Alliance; Julissa Gomez of Alliance; Katelynn Gomez of Alliance; and Zane Musgrave of Hyannis.

Johnson Earns Master of Education

Seventy-seven candidates for graduate degrees were honored at Chadron State College’s Winter Commencement at 2 p.m. Dec. 15 in the Chicoine Center.

Michelle Johnson of Alliance earned a Master of Education at the ceremony.

UNK Announces Dean’s List

The University of Nebraska at Kearney announced students who earned a place on the dean’s list for the fall 2023 semester.

Students who are on the dean’s list must have completed 12 credit hours or more of classes with a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale. Students earn a 4.0 for an “A,” 3.0 for a “B” and 2.0 for a “C.”

Courses taken on a credit/no credit basis – such as internships and student teaching – aren’t included among the necessary 12 credits.

From Alliance, Brock Brass, Courtney Cox, Kaigan McBride, Riley Lawrence and Thalia Gonzalez were all named to the Dean’s List. From Hemingford, Kylie M Mendiola-Ozuna and Lawrence Miller were named to the Dean’s List. From Hyannis, Mackenzie Anderson was named to the Dean’s List.

CSC Announces Students on the President’s List

Chadron State College has announced 365 names on the President’s List. A cumulative grade point average of at least is required for the academic honor. To qualify, students must also be enrolled in 12 credit hours of coursework, be seeking their first bachelor’s degree, and have no incomplete grades during the semester. Cities and states listed are the home address provided by the students.

From Alliance, Olivia Behrends, Kayla Campos, Lizbeth Carrillo, Julissa Gomez, Katelynn Gomez, Isabella Middleton, Cade Stephenson, Dylan Sward, Jennifer Weare and Isaac Weems were named to the President’s List. From Hemingford, Dorthea Boerkircher, Danea Hanson, Taren Hunter and Kenneth Wyland were named to the President’s List.

From Alliance, Aubrey Garrett, Nolan Nagaki, Alicia Tyree, Mackenzie Broderick, Connor Schmidt, Katelyn Varner, Kyndal Paterakis and Macey Simmons were named to the Dean’s List. From Hemingford, Rayne Jespersen was named to the Dean’s List. From Hyannis, Payton Gorwill and Ashlyn Henderson were named to the Dean’s List.

Mount Marty University Announces Fall Dean’s List

Mount Marty University in Yankton, SD, is pleased to announce the Fall 2023 Dean’s List Honorees. The Dean’s List Honoree at Mount Marty University is defined as a full-time undergraduate student completing a full-time load of graded course work with a minimum term grade point average of 3.5.

The fall 2023 Dean’s List honorees include Chase C. King, of Alliance, and Brinna L. Phillips, of Hemingford.
