The Alliance, Nebraska City Council met in a Regular Meeting on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. Present were Council Members McGhehey, Mashburn, Weisgerber, Liptack and Turman.
Council acted on and/or discussed the following items of business:
1. Proclaimed April 25, 2025 as Arbor Day, the Month of May as Frontline Worker Appreciation Month, May 9, 2025 as Provider Appreciation Day, the week of April 12 – 18, 2025 as Public Transit Week.
2. Approved the Consent Calendar. Ayes: Liptack, Turman, Mashburn, McGhehey. Abstaining: Weisgerber. Motion carried.
3. Presentation by Eric Case, Construction Manager for Sandhills Electric, updating the council on the solar field project.
4. Passed the second reading of Ordinance No. 2999, which approves the Annexation Petition from (Westco) Jirdon Agri-Chemicals, Inc. The Petitioner requests a 14.99-acre Tract of Land in the Southwest Quarter of Section 26, Township 25 North, Range 48 West of the 6th Principal Meridian, Box Butte County, Nebraska, to be incorporated within limits of the City of Alliance. Ayes: Mashburn, Liptack, Turman, McGhehey. Abstaining: Weisgerber. Motion carried.
5. Entered into Executive Session for City Clerk Annual Review.
