The Alliance, Nebraska City Council met in a Regular Meeting on Tuesday, January 21 2025 at 7:00 p.m. Present were Council Members McGhehey, Mashburn, Weisgerber, Liptack and Turman.
Council acted on and/or discussed the following items of business:
1. Proclaimed the Week of January 26 – February 1, 2025 as National Lutheran Schools Week.
2. Moved Item I. Resolution No. 25-11 to Item B. Ayes: All. Motion carried.
3. Approved Resolution No. 25-14, which approves Jelinek Custom Cleaning for Economic Development Assistance in the amount of $250,000. Ayes: All. Motion carried.
4. Approved the Consent Calendar. Ayes: All. Motion carried.
5. Adopted Ordinance No. 2994, which accepts and amends the City of Alliance Municipal Code Section 2-132 regarding the General Employee’s Retirement Committee. Ayes: All. Motion carried.
6. Adopted Ordinance No. 2995, which accepts and amends the City of Alliance Municipal Code Section 2-152 regarding the Police Pension Retirement Committee. Ayes: All. Motion carried.
7. Adopted Ordinance No. 2996, which accepts and amends the City of Alliance Municipal Code Section 2-172 regarding the Firefighter Pension Retirement Committee. Ayes: All. Motion carried.
8. Approved Resolution No. 25-11, which recommends to the Department of Transportation that Contour Airlines provide the Essential Air Service at the Alliance Municipal Airport. Contour Airlines will provide services for four years beginning June 1, 2025, if approved by the Department of Transportation. Ayes: All. Motion carried.
9. Approved Resolution No. 25-12, which accepts and enters into a contract agreement with WSKF Architecture for preliminary design services of a new Public Safety Center, which will not exceed the amount of $100,000. Ayes: Liptack, Mashburn, Turman, McGhehey. Nay: Weisgerber. Motion carried.
10. Approved Resolution No. 25-13, which accepts and awards Farris Engineering the contract to perform the Alternate Feed Line Feasibility Study. Ayes: All. Motion carried.
