On Dec. 9, a crash near Ellsworth on Highway 2 claimed the life of an Alliance man.
According to Cody Thomas, Public Relations Director for the Nebraska State Patrol, at 7:15 a.m. an eastbound Ford pickup crossed the center line, colliding with a westbound Chevrolet pickup.
The driver of the Ford was Grant Mann, 40, of Alliance, who was transported to Box Butte General Hospital. There, he was pronounced deceased.
A minor was driving the Chevrolet, and was transported to Regional West in Scottsbluff to be treated for serious injuries. Thomas said seat belts were in use by both drivers. He noted that the crash is still under investigation.
