Creating a Sense of Security in Our Community

To Protect and Serve now is a new newspaper column brought to you by the Alliance Police Department in which local officers will be discussing a variety of topics to help bridge any information gaps between the public and the officers serving in their community.

Subjects of the column could range on a variety of topics including: general safety tips to help prevent being victimized; traffic enforcement topics such as speeding and the reasons why it is enforced; specific services offered by the department and how they can benefit you; changes in the department which are likely to impact the community; or even upcoming events which may impact law enforcement presence.

These columns will be written by individual officers in the department to allow them an opportunity to explain the various factors which go into public safety and law enforcement. We hope these articles will benefit the community as a whole by creating an open dialogue with the community about how their local agency operates and the reasoning behind these operations.

We also hope for deeper understanding of safety in the community and how we can all contribute to creating a sense of security in our community. So tell us what you would like to talk about or what you want to know is happening comments@bbcpublicsafety.net.
