With wins over Scottsbluff and Gering, the Alliance St. Agnes Junior high boy’s basketball team captured first in the Bluffs end of the year tournament. Alliance ends their season with a 7 and 7 record. Playing in the 8th grade B division, the Crusaders downed Scottsbluff 44 to 33 on Monday then defeated Gering 40 to 13 on Tuesday in the round robin format. Leading St. Agnes in scoring in both games was Payton Boyer who tallied 18 points against the hosts Bearcats and netted 14 points in the contest versus Gering. Jory Matulka finished with 12 points while Devin Graham added 8 and Luke Weems scored 6 in the game against the Bluffs. The Crusaders had six in the scoring column versus Gering. Joining Boyer’s 14 were: Matulka 8, Graham 6, and ending with 4 each were Weems, Joe Steele, and Ethan Schultz.
