CHADRON – The Chadron State College Music department has scheduled events for the 2024-25 school year. All concerts and recitals are free and open to the public.
High School students from the surrounding high plains region who sing soprano and alto join CSC for Soprano/Alto Day, a day-long workshop instructed by Dr. Joel Schreuder. Students will conclude this experience Oct. 16 at 2:30 p.m. in a culminating concert at the Sandoz Center Chicoine Atrium.
CSC’s Choirs and Chadron Community Choir will perform jointly under the direction of Schreuder in the Chadron Arts Nov. 3 at 3 p.m.
Nov. 8, the CSC Wind Symphony and the Chadron Community Band will perform at 7 p.m. under the direction of Dr. John Wojcik in Memorial Hall’s Auditorium.
A Jazz concert will take place Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Hall Auditorium directed by Dr. Michael Stephens.
Professors of Jazz will join CSC’s Vocal Jazz ensemble in a concert Dec. 3, in the Memorial Hall Auditorium at 3 p.m.
A holiday concert is scheduled for Dec. 5. at 7 p.m. in Memorial Hall’s Auditorium.
Concluding the fall semester, CSC’s Guitar Ensemble will perform in the Student Center Pit at 7 p.m. on Dec. 6.
Kicking off the Spring 2025 semester, a Music Faculty Showcase performance will ensue in the Sandoz Center Chicoine Atrium at 3 p.m. on Feb. 16.
Outstanding students will perform in the Honors Recital on March 2 at 3 p.m. in the Sandoz Center Chicoine Atrium.
A Percussion Ensemble concert will take place March 29, at 3 p.m. in Memorial Hall’s Auditorium.
April 4, the Wind Symphony and Community Band will perform in the Memorial Hall Auditorium at 7 p.m.
Schreuder will direct CSC’s Choirs and the Chadron Community Choir in concert at 3 p.m. in the Chadron Arts Center on April 6.
On April 14, the CSC Jazz Ensemble and Regional Jazz Band will perform in the Memorial Hall Auditorium at 7 p.m.
The CSC Vocal Jazz Ensemble concert will begin at 7 p.m. on April 15 at Memorial Hall Auditorium.
The Spring 2025 semester will conclude with a Guitar Ensemble performance in the Math Science COIL Planetarium on May 2, at 7 p.m
