Dale Wayne Fredrick passed away May 30, 2022, at Regional West Hospital in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Dale was born on August 4, 1947, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Alliance, Nebraska, to Richard W. & Lucille Jean (Coupens) Fredrick.
Dale graduated from St. Agnes Academy in May, 1965. He married Myrna Thomas and they are the parents of one daughter, Robi Ann (Fredrick) Heldenbrand.
After high school, Dale served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Upon returning to Alliance, he worked various jobs in the community before he found his career job with Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring in August 2007. Dale enjoyed many hobbies, including bull riding, rodeoing, being a member of the Snake Creek Snuffers, coaching football at his alma mater, and helping his friends with ranch work. His favorite hobbies were being around his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Robi Ann (Tod) Heldenbrand of Alliance, Nebraska; brother, Darrel (Shelley) Fredrick of Aurora, Colorado; Eric Lenz (son of his heart) of Edgewood, Washington; his grandchildren, Tristan (Brettni) Heldenbrand and great-granddaughter, Elliott, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; Mattie (Shawn) Wilkins and great-grandchildren, Logan and Levon of Ada, Oklahoma; Matt (Desire’) Heldenbrand and great-grandson, Finnegan, of Universal City, Texas; Brandon Lenz of Alliance, Nebraska. His sisters-in-laws; Linda Oak and Betty Jo Garett, of Alliance, Nebraska. He is also survived by his nieces, Sara Fredrick, of Milton, Florida; Misty Oak and Danica (John) Breen, of Alliance, Nebraska; his nephews, Rich Fredrick, of Aurora, Colorado, and Calob (Justina) Garett, of Hemingford, Nebraska; and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrna, parents, grandson, Brady Lenz, and brother-in-law, Glen Oak.
Dale’s wake service will be held Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 7 p.m. at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. His memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2022 at the church with Fr. Lou Nollette officiating. Inurnment will be in the Nebraska Veteran’s Cemetery after the service.
