New details regarding the Big Red Blitz were released on Tuesday morning as Husker coaches, players and representatives prepare to visit 20 stops throughout the state.
The Huskers are divided into 10 groups, with each group visiting two locations on June 16. Alliance and Gering will be visited by group one, which consists of Athletic Director Bill Moos, Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach Armon Gates and Head Wrestling Coach Mark Manning. Mattie Fowler, Huskers Athletic Fund and Huskers Radio Network Softball Analyst will be the emcee. The visit to Alliance will take place at 11 a.m. at Newberry’s, located at 110 West 4th Street. The group will then travel to the Gering Civic Center, located at 1050 M Street, with the event kicking off at 3 p.m.
The event is free to the public, though capacity at the event is limited, so fans will be admitted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The second group, which consists of Head Volleyball Coach John Cook, Assistant Football Coach Tony Tuioti and Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach Matt Abdelmassih, will visit Chadron at the Country Kitchen Restaurant, located at 1250 West 10th Street, at 11 a.m.
Head Football Coach Scott Frost, along with Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach Nate Loenser and Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development Ben Murray will appear in North Platte at the North Platte Community College Gymnasium, located at 601 W. State Farm Road, at 11:30 a.m. CT.
